The Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (HVYSL) Academy Program is a training and winter/summer tournament-based program that is focused on professional level training and competitive events in a developmental environment.
HVYSL Academy is supplemental to what players are doing at their HVYSL clubs. Therefore, it enhances the training that the players receive at their clubs.
Players will be introduced to the Academy coaching methodology that is designed to bring their game to a higher level. The Academy begins at U7 thru U18. Tryouts begin in mid-September for U7 thru U13 age groups. U14 thru U18 tryouts will be held in November after the completion of the High School Sports Season.
The Academy Season begins in November and runs through the last summer tournament in late July. Teams will play in 2 summer tournaments. Those would be the Seaside Classic in Rhode Island and Lititz in Pa.
New: Pre-Academy Program
New to this season will be the Pre-Academy Program (U7-U8). The Pre-Academy Program will introduce players to supplemental training, focused on the principles of the HVYSL T3 Developmental Program: Technical, Tactical and Thought.
Tryouts
Tryouts of this program will be held around Mid-September to early October. Training begins in November and runs through early June. It culminates with a round robin tournament so they can get a feel for what is to come with HVYSL Academy once they graduate.
