HVYSL Announces winners of the 2026 scholarship awards

The Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (HVYSL) board of directors is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2026 Michael Goldberg and Dan Herbst Scholarships. Each year, HVYSL offers graduating seniors the opportunity to apply for one of four scholarships that are awarded at the end of the school year. Graduating seniors who have met the soccer league’s academic and soccer requirements, submit applications to a board committee that then screens, ranks and votes on the winners.

Two $1,000 Michael Goldberg Scholarships were awarded this year, one to Alyssa Bluman of the West Point Soccer Club, and one to Shiloh Dabkowski, also of the West Point Soccer Club. Both Alyssa and Shiloh are graduates of James I. O’Neill High School in Highland Falls. In the Fall, Alyssa will be attending Auburn University in Alabama, and Shiloh will be studying Operations Research at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

Two $500 Dan Herbst scholarships were also awarded this year. Hank Sycoff of the New Paltz Soccer Club will be attending Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA this Fall. He is a graduate of Chapel Field Christian Schools in Pine Bush, NY. Sasha Sheehan of the Eastern Pike Soccer Club will be attending Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She is a graduate of Delaware Valley HS in Milford, PA.
