The Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (HVYSL) Academy Program is a supplemental training and indoor/outdoor tournament-based program. The focus is on professional level training and competitive events in a developmental environment. HVYSL Academy is supplemental to what players are doing at their HVYSL clubs. Therefore, it enhances the training that the players receive at their clubs. Players will be introduced to the Academy coaching methodology that is designed to bring their game to a higher level. The Academy begins at U7 thru U12. Tryouts begin in October for U7 thru U12 age groups. The Academy Season begins in January and runs through the last summer tournament in June. Teams will play in 3 indoor tournaments and two outdoor tournaments. The goal is to have an event to put the training to the test every month (not including April). Pre-Academy Program
Returning this season will be the Pre-Academy Program (U7-U8). The Pre-Academy Program will introduce players to supplemental training, focused on the principles of the HVYSL T3 Developmental Program: Technical, Tactical and Thought. Training will begin in January and runs through early June. It culminates with a round robin tournament in June so they can get a feel for what is to come with HVYSL Academy once they graduate.
Tryouts
Tryouts will be held at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome: 240 MILTON TURNPIKE MILTON, NY 12547
Tryout ages will be as follows: Pre-Academy U7 and U8 (2019 and 2018) Academy U9 thru U12 (2014 thru 2017)
DATES: Tuesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 30th from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
Players are encouraged to attend all tryout dates, but it is not mandatory to make the team.
Q&As
Practices will be held at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome Complex in Milton, NY. Winter and bad weather sessions will be indoors. Outdoor training will be on their outdoor fields
The program begins in January, is conducted once a week, and runs through the end of June.

The Academy Program begins at U9 thru U12. The Pre-Academy Program introduces U7/U8 players to the developmental benefits of Academy program.
The Academy – Cost is $1200. This includes all facility costs, coaching fees, tournament registration costs, referee fees, administration costs and uniform. Hotel stays for sleepover tournaments (Mt Olive) are not included in this fee. The cost for Pre-Academy Program is $750. This includes all facility costs, coaching fees, administration costs and uniform. There will be an end of Program Tournament at Hudson Valley Sports Dome Outdoor Fields in June.
The Academy teams will practice 1x weekly from January thru June.
Pre-Academy trains once a week, beginning in January thru early June.
Once tryouts are completed, teams will be assigned training day. Indoor training will be on Fridays.
All teams will be notified by November5th.
It is recommended that players attend all two sessions. This allows the coaches to see the best representation of them as players.
The HVYSL Academy program requires a strong commitment. Players are expected to be available for all training sessions and tournaments on the schedule.
